23/SU Multicultural Psychology (PSY-712-23SU2)
The Multicultural Psychology course has been designed to engage students in learning about the psychological foundations of the influences and effects of culture and society on individuals and groups, and their interactions. Students will learn about culture and society's potential impacts on the experience and management of similarity and difference in the therapeutic relationship, in clinical assessment, in research practices, in everyday life, and on the interpretation of empirical data. The course consists of an academic and an experiential component in order to provide exposure to the knowledge and self- and other- awareness that facilitates multicultural competence.
