This seminar will provide an overview of the psychology of learning and insight as component elements of a comprehensive psychology of thinking that can both support and critically challenge AI as a thinking tool. The second part of the seminar will introduce students to AI tools for academic research. Students will get an opportunity to learn and use these tools and will be asked to critically evaluate both the promise and limitations of AI through the conceptual framework of topics discussed earlier in the seminar. Students will consider what kind of knowledge AI provides as we interact with these tools and consider the ethics of AI for academic research.
