25/SU CBT Internship Qualification (PSY-632B-25SU1)
PSY-632B: The Internship Qualification Exam (IQE) is a two-part evaluation of a doctoral student's doctoral-level scholarship and clinical intervention skills that is offered only in summer term. The Internship Qualification Exam (IQE) covers case conceptualization, application of theoretical orientation, treatment planning & summary, and ethical & diversity issues. Students must successfully complete both parts of the exam before applying for internship. Completion of the exam indicates these skills are at or above the pre-internship level.
PSY-632B is completed during the summer term following successful completion of terms 3 and 4 of PCS. Successful completion of the exam indicates these skills are at or above the pre-internship level. It covers the following topics:
• case summary and conceptualization that incorporates relevant socio-economic-cultural factors
• application of theoretical orientation to a case conceptualization and treatment plan
• treatment summary
• materials demonstrate development of appropriate therapeutic relationship
