25/FA Data Collect, Manage & Present (PSY-786-25FA1)
The purpose of this 4-credit course is to help develop technical skills that students typically need to conduct research. Topics include creating surveys (Qualtrics), navigating commonly used analytical software for quantitative data (e.g., SPSS, JASP), creating a poster presentation (PowerPoint), and working with the IRB with particular emphasis on aligning survey programming with data preparation. The course does not specifically include developing a research question or designing a study, both of which should be overseen by the research supervisor or their appointee. The course supplements PSY-686B, PSY-716A, and PSY-787 (Applied Design & Methodology I).
