Introduces students to epistemologies of qualitative research, showcasing differences between qualitative and quantitative traditions. We will define phenomenology, ethnography, participant action research, and other research traditions. Non-Western epistemologies and research ethics are included. Workshop activities include critically analyzing journal articles and completing a beginning research activity. Learners are required to read posted journal articles and chapters from the text and to complete discussion questions before the session. For the 1.0 credit offering, students must create a qualitative research proposal, with research question, research genre, data collection, and data analysis techniques. 01/18/2023-01/19/2023 In Person/Blended Wednesday, Thursday 09:30AM - 05:30PM, Room to be Announced
